Community, Conservation & Creativity: Our Quarterly Impact at Do Good Surf Club
Share
At Do Good Surf Club, every season is about more than creating ethical sustainable swimwear and surfwear — it’s about showing up for our community, protecting the ocean we love, and creating meaningful experiences for surfers of all ages. This past quarter has been especially impactful, and we’re excited to share what we’ve been working on, what we’ve given back, and what’s coming next.
From donations and beach cleanups to surf education, pop-ups, and new sustainable product development, here’s a look at how we’re continuing to do good — together.
Giving Back: Quarterly Donations & Environmental Impact
Giving back is at the heart of everything we do. Thanks to your continued support, this quarter we were able to donate to organizations making a real difference both locally and globally:
-
Food Finders – supporting food access and fighting hunger in our local Southern California communities
-
Maui Food Bank – aiding ongoing recovery efforts and food security for families in Maui
-
Project Hawai'i- empowers homeless children (keiki) in Hawai'i to break the cycle of poverty through year-round, award-winning programs.
-
Surfrider Foundation – protecting coastlines, oceans, and access to clean beaches
-
Coral Gardeners – restoring coral reefs and supporting ocean regeneration worldwide
Every purchase helps fund these efforts, reinforcing our belief that small actions add up to meaningful change.
Community Education & Youth Empowerment
We’re deeply committed to education — especially when it comes to sustainability, nutrition, mindfulness, and ocean safety.
This quarter, we collaborated with the city of Long Beach who awarded us an incredible opportunity for a mini grant to work on a community garden!
Together, we’re working on planting new trees, native plants to attract pollinators, building a pea trellis, sowing vegetable and herb seeds, weeding, composting and creating an accessible community workshop space.
We are also developing hands-on classes and workshops designed for people of all ages, with a special focus on children and families. These programs aim to connect kids to nature, through learning more about gardening, native plants/ pollinators, composting, cooking nutritiously and in season, sustainability at home/ in the wild, mental health, meditation, and mindful living in ways that feel empowering, fun, and accessible.
Surf Sessions, Pop-Ups & Local Gatherings
San Onofre Surf & Photo Session + Sample Sale Pop-Up
Last month, we hosted a fun filled surf session at San Onofre with a surprise sample sale pop-up/ giveaway. It was a day filled with sunshine, salty hair, sustainable suits, and the kind of community energy that reminds us why we started this brand in the first place. Shout out to surfer baddies- AJ, Sam and our amazing surf photographer, Megan- for capturing some beautiful moments and all of the amazing people we got to meet IRL!

Beach Cleanups at Seal Beach & Bolsa Chica
Just last weekend, we came together for surf + beach cleanup efforts at Seal Beach and Bolsa Chica. With boards on the beach and trash bags in hand, our community helped remove waste from the shoreline — a reminder that protecting our playground is a shared responsibility.
For more clean ups, be sure to join your local Surfrider chapter!
What We’re Building: Sustainable Surfwear Innovation
Behind the scenes, we’re working hard on next season’s sustainable surf suits. This includes:
-
Exploring new ethical manufacturing partnerships
-
Researching innovative low-impact materials
-
Testing natural and plant-based fibers that align with our sustainability standards
Our goal is to continue creating surfwear that performs in the water while minimizing harm to the planet — without compromising comfort, durability, or style.
New Releases: Surf Education for All Ages
From Fear To Flow: A Surf Guide for Anxious Surfers
We’re proud to share that our newest surf book release, From Fear To Flow, is now available on our website and on Kindle or via eBook.
This surf guide is designed to help anxious or beginner surfers build ocean confidence, understand surf conditions, and reconnect with the joy of being in the water — without pressure or intimidation.

Children’s Surf Book Coming Soon
We’re also excited to announce that our first children’s surf book focused on courage, confidence, and ocean connection will be released by the end of the January. This book is especially close to our hearts and is designed to help young readers build a positive relationship with the ocean from an early age. Preorders available by DM or email, but it will also be carried at a few select local bookstores! 💗 (Readings/ dates TBA!)
